Terry Moore is a creator whose work I have had little to no exposure to. I have always seen Strangers in Paradise trade paperbacks on the shelves and posters on the wall at my local comic shop, but I would walk by. I hear about Strangers from people all over the internet, but I click away. Word is that the movie was quite good, but I’ve never checked that out either. I deeply regret passing it by for all this time now that I have delved into Echo, Moore’s latest original creation.

As I’m sure you’ve been conditioned to know, Spore was released this last Sunday, September 7th. I really wanted to play it on release day. Normally I don’t worry about this too much unless it is a game that I am especially excited for. If I recall correctly, the last game that I was determined to play on release day was The Orange Box in 2007. I downloaded it through Steam at midnight as soon as it became available. It was incredibly convenient and it made me happy to be a Steam customer. Things are not always this easy, however, especially when it comes to games published by Electronic Arts.

My experience in obtaining Spore inspired the message of this post. EA: I want to buy your games. Please make it easier on me.

Dosu:DAA!

I’d like to start doing something new around here in the spirit of finding kick ass thingies all around the net. A little thing called “Digital Art Appreciation”. Just shining the spotlight on some of my favorite artists I’ve found over the course of browsing the web.

Mr. Argyle Goes First.

So while I’m a huge fan of zombies and would love nothing more than to start out by showing you an artist who does excellent work on them, I’m not going to. I thought it would be best if we start with someone known quite well in the world of AEG, his name is Steve Argyle. Steve is known best probably for his work on Legend of the Five Rings and other Fantasy and scifi games and what have you.

Look at that! New hosting. Okay, maybe it isn’t so apparent to you, but we like it! The increased speed is nice, pages load much faster. Enjoy!

You should also enjoy the cheap game that we have for you today. Not only is it the first game from Valve that we’ve featured, it’s also the first multiplayer-only FPS. Probably familiar to many people given its heritage, Day of Defeat: Source is definitely a game that you should have in your library. Maybe you already do and you just haven’t played in a while. Revisit it with us, then.

We just transferred the site to another server to achieve better overall performance, reliability, and an improved control panel. I noticed the difference right away. Do you?

For those that want to know, we moved from 1and1.com to sharkspace.com. While there was nothing horribly wrong with 1and1 lately, SharkSpace has it beat in most categories. 1and1 is cheaper, and it shows. If you’re interested in more details on why we left 1and1 and/or why we chose SharkSpace, hit us with a comment.

There’s a whole different sub-genre of machinima that I haven’t shown here yet. It consists of music video montages — mixes of music and suitable scenes from a particular game. These mixes are generally humorous in nature and can be found for most popular games. While I originally stumbled upon this sub-genre a long while ago in a video that featured Halo, I’m going to start things off by sharing a TF2 one, the current flavor of the month. Enjoy.
