For years I thought that I’d lost my old 386 games. The first PC games that I ever played. They’re much of the reason that I’m contributing to this site today. I knew I had the hardware laying about here and there, but I could never find the old games I used to play. Recently, however, when cleaning out the old garage, a cache from my gaming past was recovered. For those interested in joining me while I wax nostalgic a little bit, read on.

I really have to take back what I said about this game… In the end its assholes teaming up and farming newcomers. Don’t play this game if you’re looking for something fun in the long run. As Sokk would say, “Worst Game Ever!”

Poking around my comics pull list online today, pruning, adding to it, checking out new trades coming out, when a solicitation on the side of the web page caught my eye. It said simply: Serenity: Better Days #1. I had to do a double take to be sure I wasn’t seeing things. Apparently, there is a new Serenity comic on the way from Joss Whedon. It looks to be another prequel to the movie, just as the last Serenity mini-series.
This may be this is old news to some people who read websites like Newsarama or CBR, but I personally keep up on what comics are coming out by reading Previews and watching the weekly release lists. I had heard rumblings that a new comic was coming, but hadn’t heard anything concrete yet, until today.
“Better Days revisits everyone’s favorite space cowboys in this thrilling, action-packed adventure, with Mal and his crew on a heist that promises a big payoff—what’s surprising is that this heist just might make good on that promise. Whedon reunites with Brett Matthews and Will Conrad, his collaborators on the best-selling 2005 series Those Left Behind. Adam Hughes joins the team for covers.”
I am VERY excited to see that Adam Hughes will be doing covers. I am normally not a huge fan of his art from page-to-page (or his writing, for that matter), but in small doses he is a genius. Here’s hoping that each issue sells 50,000 copies to show Fox that there is still money to be made from the FireFly universe and we’ll see a new movie. The comic is being published by Dark Horse and the first issue is dated to be released on March 12th, 2008.
