Seeing Jonathan Mak nearly melt down after the comment about his text wrapping (I'm still not sure what he was referring to, specifically) was quite a sight. I know just how he felt at that moment. His comments following that were just awesome.

In all honesty, there was nothing I really gained from that. But I did enjoy hearing several dudes I respect a LOT talking about their games and the things that they love about games, and what they look for in a game.

I remember when I was a we lad, just starting to understand teh grander scale of the industry behind video games. I was just learning then. Heh. I still am in all honesty. But my favorite magazine has always been Electronic Gaming Monthly. It was one of the first gaming mags that just felt right and intelligent to me. The reviewers didn't seem like they would cave into what the game makers wanted. Even when I was 12 years old. I felt that reviews were cookie cutter and didn't really seem to represent the games that I rented.

Then I got my first issue of EGM. The one thing that will always stick out in my mind was how much Mark MacDonald made me laugh. From his bio before the reviews, to what he had to say about certain games. To this day, this man has the abillity to make me ROFL for real.

I'm not an avid watcher of the 1up show, because I just never felt the urge to really sit down to watch a podcast. I'd rater listen to one. Just personal preferece.

But I'm glad you're showing this. I am a big fan of what Mark Mac has to say.

I just started watching it and I'll tell ya my two cents when I'm done.

I love casual talks like this, but what an odd bunch. They've all approached the industry from different paths. It's kind of cool that I recognize Wolpaw and Mak. Did you see Mak at the IGF awards? Heh. He always strikes me as the guy who should be saying "what the fuck am I doing here?" Some decent and honest comments from him here, though.
